Piles in Pregnancy
What Are Piles in Pregnancy?
Piles, or hemorrhoids, are swollen veins in the rectum or around the anus. During pregnancy, increased pressure in the pelvic area, hormonal changes, and constipation contribute to the development of piles. There are two types of piles:
- Internal Piles: These occur inside the rectum and can lead to bleeding during bowel movements. They are usually painless but may cause discomfort.
- External Piles: These form under the skin around the anus and can cause pain, swelling, itching, and irritation.
